“Winds Of Winter” Release Date Still Unknown as HBO’s ‘Game Of Thrones’ Moves Right Along; Author George R.R. Martin Doesn’t Believe In Spoilers?

The "Winds of Winter" release date is still unknown yet HBO's "Game of Thrones" is threatening to catch up with the events in the "Song of Fire and Ice" series. However, author George R. R. Martin seemingly doesn't see any harm done by the TV show in his future books.

George R. R. Martin weighed in on spoilers on the "Winds of Winter" and the Game of Thrones in his blog grrm.livejournal.com:

"If something happens on the show before it happens in the book, I suppose one could call that a spoiler. If something happens on the show, but happens very differently in the books, is that still a spoiler? If something happens on the show, but never happens in books, what precisely was spoiled?" author George R.R. Martin wrote.

Then he added:

"And how many children did Scarlett O'Hara have, anyway?"

The last line was in reference to the stark difference in the film adaptation of the "Gone With the Wind" novel and the movie starring Clarke Gable and Vivien Leigh.

In the book, Scarlett O'Hara had three children against the one child in the film, according to Epoch Times.

With the "Winds of Winter" release date still in limbo, fans of the series try to get their fix by following the "Game of Thrones" series on HBO. In season 4, episode 6, the trial of Tyrion Lannister is about to start.

Earlier, "Game of Thrones" writers and producers Dan Weiss and David Benioff told Vanity Fair April issue that they sought out George R.R. Martin in Sta. Fe, New Mexico last year to know the "Winds of Winter" release date or, if not, what his vision for the book is.

"If you know the ending, then you can lay the groundwork for it. And so we want to know how everything ends. We want to be able to set things up. So we just sat down with him and literally went through every character," David Benioff said.
