CW Series ‘Star-Crossed’, ‘The Carrie Diaries’, ‘Bloodlines’, And ‘The Tomorrow People’ All Headed Toward Cancellation; Ratings Which Shows Made It To The CW Renewals List 2014?

As much as fans want to hold on to their favorite series, it has been announced that the CW series ‘Star-Crossed', ‘The Carrie Diaries', ‘Bloodlines', and ‘The Tomorrow People' will be officially removed from the CW renewals list 2014.

‘The Carrie Diaries', which follows the life of the young Carrie Bradshaw, has been included in the network's cancellation list several times. The CW gave the show two seasons hoping that it would generate an audience reminiscent of the ‘Sex and the City' hype. However, it appears that young viewers are not much interested in seeing the blonde beauty's adventures as a starry-eyed teen.
‘Star-Crossed' likewise failed to find its footing despite the interesting plot of romance between aliens and humans. Instead of having 13 episodes, ‘Star-Crossed' was shortened to 12 episodes for its failure to generate the young audience's interest.

Not included in the CW renewals list 2014 is ‘The Tomorrow People' despite having 22 episodes. The show is about a bunch of paranormal humans all struggling for survival. Though the show was able to form its own fan base, such isn't enough to generate a second season.

While ‘Bloodlines' is not actually a CW series for it was merely a spin-off of the ‘Supernatural', the network likewise decided to ax the show. ‘Supernatural' is said to have a "rabid fan base" which requested the end for ‘Bloodlines', the spin-off revolving around dueling monster families.

‘Supernatural' fans think that ‘Bloodlines' is deviating from the original CW series' theme. With fans vocally expressing their dislike for the show, the network was left with no choice but to cancel it.

Meanwhile, some of the shows included in the CW renewals list 2014 are ‘Hart of Dixie' and ‘Beauty and the Beast'. CW series such as ‘Arrow', ‘Reign', ‘Supernatural', ‘The Originals', and ‘The Vampire Diaries' have been renewed already.

Do you agree with CW's decision to ax the four shows?
