Harry Potter Spinoff Author J.K. Rowling Banking On New Media To Promote Projects? 2014 Quidditch World Cup Takes Her Writing Into Another Level

"Harry Potter" spin-off author J.K. Rowling is taking advantage of the new media in order to promote new projects. For example, she created the Pottermore website which will include news and updates about the fictional 2014 Quidditch World Cup that takes her writing to a whole another level.

The Pottermore will take on a sports newspaper format to be written by Ginny Potter-formerly a Weasley-who is named a Quidditch correspondent for "The Daily Prophet," said Washington Square News.

According to a post by Ginny Weasley on Pottermore, the 2014 Quidditch World Cup has a rough start when the mascots of the two opposing teams had a scuffle. The problem is, these are not your average cute mascots but magical beasts with huge claws and sharp fangs.

Due to the fight, the magizoologists are deployed to the desert to contain the damage which already resulted to broken bones, bites and not a few of the 300 audience "suffering from shock."

"The Argentinian Council of Magic is reeling from accusations that their decision to state a mascot-themed opening ceremony was foolish and reckless," Ginny Weasley Potter writes.

As early as three years ago, "Harry Potter" spinoff author J.K. Rowling already announced the creation of Pottermore, which will serve as a platform to store all her future fantasy writing projects.

J.K. Rowling is already finishing up on the three-part "Harry Potter" spinoff called "Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them," which is a prequel to the "Harry Potter" series.

The "Harry Potter" spinoff was originally published as a standalone in 2001, to raise money for charity, separate from the world of Hogwarts. It's about the book that is required reading for Harry Potter and other freshmen in Hogwarts written by a magizoologist Newt Scamander, popcrush said.

A magizoologist is a scholar who studies magical creatures.
