‘The Flash’ TV Series Seals Deal With CW; Leads Superheroes Coming To Small Screen This Fall

"The Flash" TV series sealed a deal with CW network as the fastest man alive leads a stellar cast of superheroes coming to the small screen this fall.

Grant Gustin will headline the cast of "The Flash" TV series, which also includes Jesse L. Martin as Detective West and Tom Cavanaugh as Harrison Wells, playing scientist Barry Allen who gains the ability to achieve superhuman speed after he is hit by lighting during an experiment, MTV said.

In the 1990s, earth's fastest man alive was also made for TV but it only ran for two years between 1990 and 1991. The original cast, John Wesley Shipp, will reportedly have a role to play in "The Flash" TV series although it's not yet revealed what, the music and entertainment news site added.

The CW network has hit goldmine in the "Arrow" and is hoping that "The Flash" TV series will follow the same trajectory.

Meanwhile, E! News reported that "Arrow," "Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D" and "The Flash" TV series are just the beginning as four of the five major broadcast stations have ordered comic-based superhero or supernatural themed shows for the 2014 and 2015 rosters.

Among the future TV series include "Constantine," "iZombie" and "Gotham," which chronicles the story of a young Jim Gordon, played by Ben McKenzie, who is trying to get to the bottom of the killing of Bruce Wayne's parents.

Played by Matt Ryan, "Constantine" is the story of John Constantine who sends demons back to hell. It's based on the Hellblazer comics and was once played in the film by Keanu Reeves.

The series "iZombie," meanwhile, tells the story of a med student who takes a job in the coroner's office to eat brains of corpses without killing anybody. However, for each brain she eats, she gains access into the deceased person's memory. In order to alleviate her guilt, she helps solve homicide cases, insideTV said.
