‘The Hobbit: The Battle Of The Five Armies’ Release Date Hints Peter Jackson Is Taking Shortcuts For Part 3? Director Mum On Online Petition For Thorin’s Fate

"The Hobbit:The Battle of the Five Armies" release date on December 17, 2014 hints that Peter Jackson is taking shortcuts to finish the film's part 3, as the award-winning director remains mum on the online petition to keep Thorin Oakenshield alive in the concluding film.

The problem with the title change, according to idigitaltimes.com, is that director Peter Jackson has placed a spotlight on the final battle or the destination, instead of the journey of Bilbo Baggins.

By changing the concluding film's title to "The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies," Peter Jackson is going to leave out a large part of the majesty of Middle Earth-which is present in the J.R.R. Tolkien's book and even the original "Lord of the Rings Trilogy."

"We've had some of that in "The Hobbit" trilogy so far, but "The Hobbit" part 3 release date seems like it will be a little short of such things," said the website.

"Changing the title to "The Battle of the Five Armies" reduces the story to simply that - a battle. It's a fight, and one side will win. It takes all the majesty and mystery out of the story," the website claimed.

Meanwhile, "The Hobbit: The Battle of Five Armies" director Peter Jackson remains mum on the online petition to have Thorin Oakenshield avoid his fatal fate and instead live on to rule the dwarves in peace in order to maximize his potential, unlike in the sadder version of J.R.R Tolkien.

According to Examiner.com, the director has been keeping a video blog of the behind-the-scenes look of "The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies," the panorama of New Zealand where the shooting takes place, as well as his own views on production on a higher frame rate.

No word, however, on the petition uploaded on the iPetition website asking Peter Jackson not to kill Thorin Oakenshield.
