Friends Reunion 2014: Courteney Cox Will Say Goodbye To Her Friends Again; Raise a Glass of Wine to Cougar Town

Friends Reunion 2014: Courteney Cox will return to "Cougar Town" for one final season. Then Courteney Cox will say goodbye to her new friends. 

The Courtney Cox TV vehicle Cougar Town is coming to a close. The former "Friends" star's contract with "Cougar Town"was renewed by TBS for a sixth and final season. Cougar Town did fairly well for TBS, but the ratings slipped a little this year.

Cougar Town debuted in 2009 on ABC but was cancelled by network executives in 2012. Just like Scrubs, it moved to another network.

Courteney Cox's show will be back for another season but, Cougar Town's sixth season will be it's last.Cougar Town stars Courteney Cox, Christa Miller, Busy Philipps, Dan Byrd, Ian Gomez, Josh Hopkins and Brian Van Holt.  The 2015 season's batch of 13 episodes will be the final ones for Courteney Cox's suburban Florida friends.

Cougar Town has already weathered one cancellation, when ABC cancelled it a few years ago. Then it was picked up by TBS. Cougar Town joined the TBS lineup in January 2013 after three seasons on ABC.

"Cougar Town" was created by executive producer Bill Lawrence who brought us "Friends" and consulting producer Kevin Biegel. The series is produced by ABC Studios, Bill Lawrence, Courteney Cox, David Arquette and Blake McCormick, who runs the show, are the executive producers.

Cougar Town premiered in the fall season of 2009. Its season averaged over 2 million viewers and ranked as one of cable's top 10 comedies with adults 18-49.

The rest of the cast of "Friends" is keeping busy. Matthew Perry is making a pilot for "The Odd Couple" for CBS. Matt LeBlanc is doing his best work in years on the Showtime series "Episodes," playing Matt LeBlanc. Lisa Kudrow gives internet therapy on Showtime. Jennifer Aniston is hot off "The Millers," has a new movie and a new haircut. David Schwimmer's was cast as the lead in the ABC comedy pilot "Irreversible." Matthew Perry is going to reboot the classic TV series, and Neil Simon play and movie, "The Odd Couple."  'Odd Couple' will be filmed as a multi-camera comedy, the same format Perry used in 'Friends'. 

Cougar Town returns to TBS early next year for 13 episodes.
