One Direction's Zayn Malik flaunted his abs on a break from the One Direction "Where We Are" tour 2014 in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. Is he exercising to impress his girlfriend and Little Mix singer Perrie Edwards before their wedding date?

"I do try to impress her still, I do try to do a bit of exercise," One Direction singer Zayn Malik said, referring to his current girlfriend and future wife, Perrie Edwards, Now magazine previously reported.

"I don't want to completely let myself go."

And he sure hasn't! Zayn flaunted his abs when he took off his shirt near the pool in Rio, where he and fellow One Direction singers are taking a short break on their "Where We Are" world tour 2014. Zayn Malik's numerous tattoos were in full display under the warm Brazilian sun!

According to the manager of One Direction's personal trainer, all the One Direction boys have been working harder to look fit, but Zayn is the one who's changed the most - both in his attitude and results!

Ramzy Khachnik told Yahoo!: "At first, Zayn wasn't interested, but now he's engaged he wants to look his best."

"He can see how much the others' bodies have changed, so he's really got into it. There's a big difference in his arms now. The fact that he's happy and engaged has encouraged him to train and look better."

Meanwhile, according to Heat magazine, Perrie and Zayn have started working on their wedding plans but it's causing some friction between the two. Zayn wants a small, low-key ceremony, while his girlfriend wants to go all out.

"Her mum and friends are putting ideas in her head, showing her videos of huge weddings on YouTube. Zayn lets them get on with it but deep down he'd prefer something a bit more low-key," a source told the magazine.

"Everything is so busy. Hopefully we will one day be able to sit down together and start making plans," the Little Mix singer said about her upcoming wedding to the Zayn, Us Weekly previously reported. "No date at all in mind yet."

Perrie, 20, is confident that she and Zayn, 21, will stay close even when he's on the "Where We Are" world tour 2014.

"It's gonna be tough but we always make it work," she said. "Lots of texting and talking. Absence makes the heart grow fonder, I guess."
