As "The Legend of Korra" Book 3 continues to await an release date, a recent merchandise delay may foreshadow a time frame for a Nickelodeon launch date.

Recently, a string of "Legend of Korra" merchandise has experienced delays, but the biggest one has been the delay of DVD and Blu-Ray launch of Book 2.

According to Avatar the Last Airbender Online, the release date for "The Legend of Korra" Book 2 DVD has been pushed back from July 1 to September 1, a full two months delay.

Reportedly, the "How to Draw Korra" book was also pushed back from its July 1 release date to September 1. In addition, Dark Horse delayed the release date of its "Legend of Korra" and "Avatar: The Last Airbender" merchandise line from May to June and July.

Although this may seem disheartening to most fans, some also believe that this may in fact be Nickelodeon's way to lining up its release dates to match the most anticipated release date—that of Book 3 "Change."

Generally, the DVD launch of the previous TV season comes right before the release of the new season, so it is entirely possible that "The Legend of Korra" Book 3 is looking at an August release date this year.

It also means, the series can debut and promote Book 3 during the 2014 San Diego Comic-Con.
