With his team underperforming, Mattingly was asked if he's concerned, even though the season isn't yet at the quarter mark, according to MLB.com.

"I don't mind saying that it's only May 12 and there's plenty of time, but at the same time, I don't want to sit back and say we're willing to let things go," he said. "I was reading what Clayton [Kershaw] said, that we have to play with a sense of urgency. I understand there's plenty of time, but the thought process should be that we have to come prepared to play tonight and play our best baseball, and if we get beat, we do it again tomorrow. We need to think that we're going to win every night. As a manager, all I really want is for our guys to play up their potential and [know] that your team is doing the best they can. When the club is not playing to its potential, that's a concern."

The Former Marlin, Josh Beckett drew a loss in Miami on May 2 after allowing four runs in 6 2/3 innings. He is coming off a no-decision against the Giants in which he allowed one run in 6 2/3 innings.

"He kept a good-hitting ballclub at bay," Dodgers manager Don Mattingly said after that outing against San Francisco. "It's disappointing we can't get him a win. He's pitched well pretty much every time out. He can only do so much."
