New York Rangers Eastern Conference Finals: Down 3-1, Blue Shirts Make Comeback, Win Game 7 In Pittsburgh, Advance To Semi-Final

New York Rangers Eastern Conference finals: It's official, the blue shirts made a 3-1 comeback for the first time in the franchise's long history and defeated the Penguins 2-1 for the series win.

A goal in the first period of game 7 gave the New York Rangers an early 1-0 lead over the Pittsburgh Penguins. Their division rivals would tie the game in the second period, but the blue shirts responded not much long after to take the 2-1 lead. The Pens could not muster up anything when the goalie was pulled late and the Rangers officially advanced to the Eastern Conference finals.

The Eastern Conference finals hasn't been set yet because on Wednesday, it will be the Boston Bruins vs the Montreal Canadiens in Boston, thus meaning that the conference finals will be a meeting between two original six teams. The New York Rangers came close two seasons ago, but lost to the Devils in the conference finals in six games.

On another note, Henrik Lundqvist remains undefeated in game 7s. He was stellar in net on Tuesday, saving 35 of the 36 shots fired his way. He made so many big saves down the stretch when it seemed like the Pens were maybe going to take over the game.
