NBA Trade Rumors: Kyrie Irving To Lakers? Byron Scott To Recruit Former Ward If He Gets Head Coaching Job--LA's First Round Pick Is The Price!

The Los Angeles Lakers need a star to run alongside Kobe Bryant. NBA Trade Rumors are buzzing about Kyrie Irving's desire to leave the Cavs. Will the Cavs trade him?

The Lakers are a team in a hurry. The fans want results, Kobe wants results. Despite the 2014 draft being one of the best in ages, the Lakers just don't have time to develop a player.

The ideal plan for the Lakers is to take their first round pick (if they don't get lucky with top three, it will probably be 6th) hold on to their cap space and make a run for Kevin Love in 2015. However, there is a lot of pressure to make a move now, and that entails trading their only valuable asset-the first round draft pick.

Now that Mike D'Antoni's (paid off to leave?) resigned, they can use their coaching choice as a recruitment pitch for a free agent. It seems like they have abandoned the 2014 max player chase (No LeBron, Melo) and have their sights set on 2015. One of the restricted free agents then is Kyrie Irving.

Irving has long been rumored to be disgruntled with the Cavs direction. One of the factors is the release of Byron Scott. Ric Bucher of Bleacher Report has mentioned that Scott and Irving still share a bond and communicate with each other like a mentor-protégé.

Irving's contract is up but the Cavs can -and will match even the max offer for Kyrie rather than let him walk away. The only way for Kyrie to get to Tinseltown is to force a trade.

While the Lakers still want to pursue Kevin Love, if the Minnesota Timberwolves play hardball and not trade him, LA will pursue Kyrie-and they could still chase Kevin Love next year when Nash retires. Thus, when Kobe's contract ends in 2016 (and he probably retires) the Lakers will be run by Kyrie Irving and Kevin Love.

Can the Lakers pull it off?
