Gwyneth Paltrow and Chris Martin split seems like yesterday but the Coldplay frontman was already spotted spending date night with rumored girlfriend Alexa Chung despite still hanging out with the "Iron Man" actress.

According to Heat magazine, Chris Martin and Alexa Chung were spotted having a drink in a bar in Manhattan's Lower East Side on May 6. The bar is in a secluded spot conveniently hidden from view from casual observers by a vintage clothes shop.

"When I arrived at about 9.15pm, they were tucked away in a dark corner of the back room of the bar," an insider told the magazine.

The source added that both Chris Martin and Alexa Chung seemed to be comfortable around each other. "They were both in a great mood, and even asked us to watch their bags when they went out for a cigarette."

Chris Martin and Gwyneth Paltrow's split was reportedly caused by his friendship with the British TV host.

The singer and host have been reported to be seen in different events by the British tabloids. MailOnline has traced Jessica Goldsack in March who claimed to have served Chris Martin and Alexa Chung Oreo milkshakes together during the June Glastonbury music festival in the UK.

"They turned up together at around 3 or 4 a.m.," she said. "They looked like they were just chilling and having a good time. I did find it a little odd that they were together - but we had a little chat and they wandered off after they asked us if we knew of any good places to go and have a few drinks."

Chris Martin and Gwyneth Paltrow's split shocked the entertainment world especially since there was no sign of trouble before the formal announcement.

A statement posted on the "Iron Man" actress' website formalized the Chris Martin and Gwyneth Paltrow split.

"It is with hearts full of sadness that we have decided to separate," the statement read.
