‘If I Stay’ Trailer And ‘The Fault In Our Stars’ Trailer Face-Off: Shailene Woodley And Chloe Moretz Give Life To Heroines Of Tearjerker Novels, Who’s More Convincing? [WATCH]

Moviegoers who are after tearjerker films might want to consider watching the 'If I Stay' trailer and 'The Fault in Our Stars' trailer. Both trailers are previews of films which have been based on bestselling young adult novels.

The 'If I Stay' trailer shows lead actress Chloe Grace Moretz whose character Mia was left in a comatose state following a horrific car crash. Even if she's in coma, she is able to witness the grief of her family and friends through an out-of-body epiphany. She recalls memories which she'll use in order to decide between life and death.

Apart from Moretz, the 'If I Stay' trailer likewise features newcomer Jamie Blackley who will play the role of Mia's boyfriend, Adam. Gayle Forman's novel has a sequel entitled 'Where She Went' which is told from Adam's point of view. It is yet unknown whether it will also be adapted into a movie.

On the other hand, 'The Fault in Our Stars' trailer managed to generate buzz because of its touching story about two cancer-stricken teenagers, Augustus and Hazel Grace, who met in a support group and found themselves falling in love with each other. The novel is penned by John Green who's known for other works like 'Looking for Alaska' and 'Abundance of Katherines'.

Familiar faces can be seen in 'The Fault in Our Stars' trailer as it stars Shailene Woodley and Ansel Elgort who played the roles of siblings Tris and Caleb in the film adaptation of 'Divergent'.

In an interview with Time magazine, Woodley talked about what made her drawn to Tris: "The fact that Hazel at such a young age realizes that all of this is fleeting and that none of it matters. That it doesn't matter how big of a mark you leave on the world or how many great things you do, or if you change the world or if you're Martin Luther King Jr. or Cleopatra or homeboy down the street. Eventually it's all going to end, and oblivion is inevitable. So you might as well enjoy every moment and live every moment in a present state of mind. The fact that she understood that at such a young age was so powerful to me."

Will Hazel Grace and Augustus manage to find romance despite the fact that their days are numbered already?

'If I Stay' will be coming out on August 22 whereas the 'Fault In Our Stars' release date will be on June 4.
