Jay Z Attacked By Solange: [UPDATE] Beyonce Finally Opens Up About The Incident; Says ‘Fight’ Was A Private Family Matter

TheJay Z attacked by Solange incident gets an update as Beyonce finally broke her silence about the incident. The "Pretty Hurts" hitmaker said in a statement that the "fight" was a private family matter.

In a statement released to Associated Press, Beyonce weighed in on the Jay Z attacked by Solange reports:

"As a result of the public release of the elevator security footage from Monday, May 5th, there has been a great deal of speculation about what triggered the unfortunate incident. But the most important thing is that our family has worked through it. Jay and Solange each assume their share of responsibility for what has occurred," the statement stated.

"They both acknowledge their role in this private matter that has played out in the public. They both have apologized to each other and we have moved forward as a united family," it said.

The grainy video, published on TMZ on May 12, showed Jay Z being attacked by Solange.

Right after the elevator closed, the woman in the video was immediately in the face of the man in white suit. Then the punches and kicks immediately followed. The man appeared to be trying to calm her down while a burly man, believed to be a bodyguard, restrained her.

"The reports of Solange being intoxicated or displaying erratic behavior throughout that evening are simply false. At the end of the day, families have problems and we're no different. We love each other and above all we are family. We've put this behind us and hope everyone else will do the same," added Beyonce's statement on the Jay Z attacked by Solange incident.

Quoting a source, PageSix reported that Solange, who used to be on Jay Z's label, "was drunk and out of it" during the party.

"The girl is crazy and prone to outbursts. She got in the elevator with Jay and Bey. He had made a comment that she didn't like, and she just snapped,' another source told PageSix.
