Ariel first revealed the new hair color on Twitter at the end of March

A recent court hearing decided that Ariel will continue to live with her adult sister, Shanelle Grey, after an agreement was reached in a long-running guardianship dispute. A temporary guardianship was granted in 2012.Winter's father will retain control over her finances. He will have to make reports to the court. The judge on the case will retain jurisdiction until Ariel Winter turns 18.

Winter has been living with Gray since 2012. Temporary guardianship had been established while allegations that Workman was subjecting her daughter to physical and emotional abuse were being investigated.

Previously, a judge said an initial report by child protective services found evidence of emotional abuse. The court said claims of physical abuse were deemed inconclusive. Subsequent reports have not been described in court.

About a year and a half ago Ariel Winter, who was 14 years old at the time, alleged that her mother, Chrystal Workman, was abusing her. A judge removed Ariel from the home and placed her with her sister Shanelle Gray. Gray had been estranged from their mother for nearly 20 years for similar allegations.

The decision in Ariel Winter's family case comes after a long a court battle between the 16-year-old "Modern Family" actress and her mother, Chrisoula "Crystal" Workman. Chrisoula Workman had been accused of physically and emotionally abusing Ariel Winter. Workman maintains she did not abuse her daughter.

Ariel Winter has been acting since she was 7 years old. Winter plays Alex Dunphy on "Modern Family." She also appeared in movies like "Incision" and "Kiss Kiss Bang Bang."
