The Red Sox, the defending World Series champions, are in the midst of their first four-game losing streak since the end of the 2012 season.

"We've got to regroup," said Red Sox manager John Farrell. "We've got to be better in all phases. Toronto comes in here, and this is a team that's playing well. Collectively, we have to be better all the way around."

One good sign for the Red Sox is that Xander Bogaerts is heating up at the plate. The rookie shortstop is 9-for-26 in his last seven games with a double, triple, homer and two RBIs, according to MLB.com.

"The thing that stands out with Xander is awareness, not only to his abilities but to the game situation," said Farrell. "To say that there was a drastic adjustment from one day to the next, I can't say that. He's gotten some pitches and he squared them up."

J.A. Happ started the season on the disabled list,  and had a stint in the bullpen, Happ is pitching like he's got something to prove that he can still be a quality start.

"I think you're always [trying to prove yourself] to somebody," Happ said following his second win of the season. "I felt good, definitely nice to go out there and have a fairly strong outing."
