NBA Draft Lottery: Cleveland Cavaliers Win Top Overall Pick For Third Time In Four Years! Will This Convince LeBron James To Take A Second Look?

The NBA Draft Lottery has just concluded and the Cleveland Cavaliers has fortified their status as the luckiest team ever by winning their third lottery since 2011!

The Cavs were at 9th place originally. They were the only team that jumped as the Bucks and Sixers stayed put. CBS Sports reports:

"The Cleveland Cavaliers won the 2014 NBA Draft Lottery, their second consecutive No.1 pick after last year's pick of Anthony Bennett. The Cavaliers with a 1.7 percent chance, landed the top pick. From there, it was chalk.

The Milwaukee Bucks kept a top three spot, landing No.2, removing the pressure of taking the No.1 pick.

That might actually work out better for them. The Sixers meanwhile landed top-three, staying in what's considered the elite tier of this draft. The Magic stay in a great spot, with the 4th and 12th pick in the draft. They'll be in range for either Dante Exum or Julius Randle in that spot, most likely."

One of the bigger implications of the draft lottery is the current pursuit of Kevin Love. For the LA Lakers and Boston Celtics, fervent suitors of the prized power forward, have only their first round pick as the centerpiece of a trade. They were hoping to move up to convince Minnesota to exchange Love.

With the 6th and 7th pick respectively, Boston and LA may have lost their chances.

On the fortunate side, there could be a bigger implication for Cleveland. Taking the first overall pick on the most loaded draft in a half a decade is reason enough to celebrate, but the idea that they can place themselves in a better position to attract LeBron James back would call for a city holiday!

It's no longer a pipe dream. The Cavs have a new front office team and they are currently looking for a new coach. With the first overall pick in their hands, that task becomes easier.

The rumored Kyrie Irving departure may also not happen if Andrew Wiggins, Jabari Parker or Joel Embiid brings the extension.
