"Game of Thrones" season 4, episode 8 spoilers reveal that Tyrion's life will hang in the balance of what the showrunners are calling the "best" combat scenes of "Game of Thrones" - ever!

Showrunners Dan Weiss and David Benioff teased new spoilers about the fight coming in "Game of Thrones" season 4, episode 8, which will premiere the Sunday after Memorial Day weekend.

"It's one of the best - if not the best - combat scenes we've done so far," Weiss said. "It's not just people hacking at each other with spears and swords. It's the culmination of 20 years of anger and hatred and thirst for vengeance coming to a head in this amazing set piece that [stunt coordinator Paul Herbert and swordmaster C.C. Smiff] have put together. The fight delivers beyond our expectations."

For those of you who forgot what happened last episode, here's a quick recap of where we are in "Game of Thrones" season 4: Oberyn Martell volunteered himself as Tyrion's champion in his trial by combat, where Oberyn will face the Lannister's choice, The Mountain, WinterIsComing.net reports. Oberyn's rationale behind this dangerous fight is that he will finally have the opportunity to seek revenge against the man he believes raped and murdered his sister, Elia.

Let's not forget that Tyrion's life hangs in the balance of this fight as well.

"One of the most important characters in the show will live or die based on this fight," Weiss added.

After shooting the combat sequence last fall, Benioff and Weiss spoke with Entertainment Weekly about what is sure to be a heart-stopping episode.

The official episode synopsis for "Game of Thrones" season 4, episode 8 reads: "Mole's Town receives unexpected visitors. Littlefinger's (Aidan Gillen) motives are questioned. Ramsay (Iwan Rhoen) attempts to prove himself to his father. Tyrion's (Peter Dinklage) fate is decided."

"Game of Thrones" season 4 will return after the Memorial Day weekend and air on Sunday, June 1 on HBO.
