‘Batman V Superman: Dawn Of Justice' Is Final Title! It's Less Of A 'Man Of Steel' Sequel And More of A Justice League Introduction?

After designating "Batman Vs. Superman" as a working title, it has officially changed its designation as part of the official title. Henceforth, we will address this movie as "Batman V Superman: Dawn Of Justice."

The full official press release from Warner Bros:

"BURBANK, CA - Filming is underway on Warner Bros. Pictures' "Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice," the highly anticipated action adventure from director Zack Snyder, starring Henry Cavill in the role of Clark Kent/Superman, and Ben Affleck as Bruce Wayne/Batman.

"Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice" also stars Gal Gadot as Diana Prince/Wonder Woman, with Amy Adams, Laurence Fishburne and Diane Lane returning from "Man of Steel," Jesse Eisenberg as Lex Luthor, Jeremy Irons as Alfred, and Holly Hunter in a role newly created for the film.

"Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice"is written by Chris Terrio, from a screenplay by David S. Goyer.  Charles Roven and Deborah Snyder are producing, with Benjamin Melniker, Michael E. Uslan, Wesley Coller, David S. Goyer and Geoff Johns serving as executive producers. Principal photography will take place on location at Michigan Motion Picture Studios and on location in and around Detroit, Michigan; Illinois; Africa; and the South Pacific.

Set to open worldwide on May 6, 2016, "Batman v Superman: Dawn ofJustice" is based on Superman characters created by Jerry Siegel & Joe Shuster, Batman characters created by Bob Kane, and Wonder Woman created by William Moulton Marston, appearing in comic books published by DC Entertainment."

What can we derive from this final title? There seems to be no more reference that this is actually a sequel to the "Man of Steel." Also, the idea of "Dawn" means a start, or something before a start. As it was suspected, the movie is less a sequel to "Man of Steel" than a prequel to the "Justice League" (which is an unofficial title, of course).

Is DC pursuing a different path by having just one stream of movies? Unlike Marvel, where there is Iron Man 2 and 3, Thor 2, Captain America 2-the Man of Steel 2 has been tossed aside.

Will there be another solo Superman feature? What about a solo Batman and Wonder Woman feature? How will they step back after the Justice League has been introduced?

We'll find out on May 6, 2016. As of now, the revelation has brought more questions than answers-just like they planned it.
