Samsung Galaxy S5 Gold Edition Hits All Major Carriers In US, Priced At $699 Off-Contract

Samsung Galaxy S5: In case you have been wondering when you would get the gold version of the Samsung Galaxy S5, then wait no further as it officially hits major carriers in the US.

According to the report by GSM Arena, Samsung announced that the golden Galaxy S5 is now available on all major US carriers including AT&T, Sprint, Verizon Wireless, T-Mobile and U.S. Cellular.

Like the other color editions, the gold-clad Samsung Galaxy S5 will still cost $699 off-contract, though you can also get it with a monthly fee of $99 for two years.

For the past years, the gold option for smartphones has not been that popular especially that such phones are eye-catchy for burglars and thieves. However, when Apple launched a gold version of its iPhone last year, manufacturers cannot do anything but to 'copy' the color options for their smartphones.

So a few weeks after the iPhone 5s was launched, a golden Galaxy S4, and One were released. In fact, even upcoming smartphones during that time already had a golden option under way.

In case you are admiring the Samsung Galaxy S5 but you are not still sure whether you want to buy it or not, here are some specs.

The Android-powered smartphone packs a 5.1-inch display with Full HD (1920 x 1080) resolution, a quad-core CPU running at 2.5GHz, a Snapdragon 801 SoC, 2GB of RAM and a 16MP primary camera that has optical image stabilization (OIS) for better shots and images.

The Korean tech giant has also included a fingerprint scanner, a heartrate monitor, and water resistance to the Galaxy S5.

But while the Galaxy S5 is the current flagship today, several reports claim that the Korean manufacturer is already working on a 'Prime' version of it, whose task is mainly to take on higher spec'd devices in its homeland.
