A new firmware update based on Android 4.4.2 KitKat update is now available for Samsung Galaxy S4.

Users of the LTE version of Samsung Galaxy S4 can now install the official Android 4.4.2 KitKat update. Particularly, the small firmware update, with build number, I9505XXUGNE5, is currently available in Germany. Users who wish to install Android 4.4.2 KitKat update on Samsung Galaxy S4 LTE can access the firmware via Over-the-Air upgrade.

The post on Android Geeks noted that those who will install the latest and official Android 4.4.2 KitKat update will get the KNOX 2.0 and Kids Mode features. The report reads, "With Kids Mode enabled your kids will be able to play their favorite games and access various children-oriented apps easier than before. Knox 2.0 brings a better secure solution for your Galaxy S4 I9505 LTE model."

It will take some time for Samsung Galaxy S4 LTE I9505 users outside Germany to install the Android 4.4.2 KitKat update, as the firmware is being rolled out in stages. Samsung Galaxy S4 LTE users who cannot wait for the Android 4.4.2 KitKat update to be available on the device via OTA can opt for the manual installation process.

But before proceeding with the actual installation process, users have to satisfy some requirements first to make sure that the Android 4.4.2KitKat update will be flashed successfully.

First, check the phone model. As aforementioned, only those who have Samsung Galaxy S4 LTE I9505 can install official Android 4.4.2 KitKat update that's recently released.

Second, make sure that the battery level of the Samsung Galaxy S4 LTE is 80 percent or more to avoid power interruption process when installing Android 4.4.2 KitKat update.

Third, create a backup of the data and settings stored on the Samsung Galaxy S4 LTE by using custom recovery tools such as ClockWorkMod or TWRP.
