The new internet sensation told Milwaukee Journal Sentinel about the time her father told her about her involvement in the 2014 NBA Draft Lottery: “He sort of brought it up in passing one time and I though he was joking and then here I am, so I suppose it wasn’t a joke.”

Looks like Wes Edens, who bought the Bucks together with Marc Lasry for $550 million back in April, made the right decision given Mallory’s current popularity.

The high school student, who is set to graduate next month also said: “I was really nervous, but really happy to get the second pick.”

“I was extremely nervous but it was really fun,” she added.

Mallory Edens is one of Wes’ three children. She has an older sister named Madison, who happily ceded the spotlight to social media’s new darling.

“She’s definitely the more photogenic one, so I was happy to give it to her,” said Madison. “I could not be up there. She was amazing. … What a great way to start.”
