‘NCIS’ Season 12 Spoilers: Series Finally Introduces Mrs. Gibbs? Character To Be Played By Mark Harmon’s Real Wife?

"NCIS" season 12 spoilers are up and it seems Mrs. Gibbs will finally make an appearance and if all goes well, the character might even be played by Mark Harmon's real wife, actress Pam Dawber.

Showrunner Gary Glasberg told TVLine during the CBS' Television Critics Association press tour:

"I can promise you that [the mystery wife] is probably going to get touched on in Season 12," he said. "Introducing that ex promises to be [storyline] gold, I have a little tiny space on my Dry Erase board for stories for next season, and that's already up there."

As to whether the Mrs. Gibbs may be played by Mark Harmon's real wife, Glasberg offered some "NCIS" season 12 spoilers, saying: "That'd be fun."

He said that they have been flooded with calls from "NCIS" fans urging that Pam Dawber should be in the show and every year something happens which prevents that from happening.

"I have a feeling that's a tall order but it's worth a phone call," he told TVLine.

"NCIS" tells the story of a crack team Naval Criminal Investigative Service Major Case Response Team, led by a no-nonsense investigator, former Marine Leroy Jethro Gibbs.

Leroy Jethro Gibbs (Mark Harmon) first married Shannon (Darby Stanchfield of "Scandal") who died. Then he was married to Diane (Melinda McGraw of "Mad Men"), the former wife of Agent Fornell. Then he married Stephanie (played by Kathleen York of "The West Wing"). Before that however, there was a "redhead" who wasn't revealed.

Meanwhile, CBS announced Wednesday that it has ordered an "NCIS" spinoff to be aired this fall, CNN reported.

The "NCIS: New Orleans" will star Scott Bakula and airs on Tuesday night after "NCIS."

Tune in for more "NCIS" season 12 spoilers which will be posted as they come along. NCIS will premiere on CBS this fall.
