‘Sons of Anarchy’ Season 7 Cast Charlie Hunnam ‘Too Pretty To Be A Badass?’ Colin Farrell Top Choice For His Screenplay ‘Vlad’

"Sons of Anarchy" season 7 cast Charlie Hunnam had to overcome his image as "too pretty to be a badass" in order for him to do the roles he wanted. Meanwhile, the 32-year-old actor wants Colin Farrell to star in his screenplay, "Vlad."

He said that early in his career, he was playing "pretty boys." "And I was like, 'What am I doing? This isn't who I am, as a man or an artist.' "I had to overcome people's belief that I was too pretty to be a badass," he said, per Latin Post.

"Sons of Anarchy" season 7 cast Charlie Hunnam also said that he could identify better with his character Jackson "Jax" Nathaniel Teller on the FX hit TV series because a lot of his friends are "gangsters" although they are not the type that prey on the innocents.

"I have no interest in the type of criminality that has no respect for collateral damage. But I don't condemn the guys who say, 'This society we've created is kind of [messed up], and I'm willing to take it down -- for selfish gain -- but also to make a point," he added.

"Sons of Anarchy" season 7 cast Charlie Hunnam is actually working on his first screenplay titled "Vlad" about the story of Vlad the impaler, the basis for Bram Stoker's horror classic "Dracula.""

In an interview with Entertainment Weekly , Charlie Hunnam said that he prefers Colin Farrell to play the lead.

"There's something very roguish and bad boy about Vlad, and I know Colin a little bit, and I think he has some of the characteristics that would be essential for playing this guy," he said.

"He had a real affinity for the darker side of society. I think he felt like he was an outcast, too, in a lot of ways. I think Farrell would be fantastic," Charlie Hunnam said, although he added that, alternatively, Christian Bale or Ryan Gosling would be his next choices.
