One Direction Break Up Rumors 2014: Niall Horan Talks ‘Different Tastes’ In New Album, But Liam Payne And Harry Styles Deny Split

One Direction is plagued by break up rumors, especially when word gets out that one of the One Direction boys is working on solo projects away from the group. Niall Horan admitted that the boys have very "different tastes" in music when working on their new album 2014, but Liam Payne and Harry Styles deny rumors of a break up.

"Last week when we were doing rehearsals, we were throwing tracks we had written back and forth to each other," 20-year-old Niall Horan told The Sunday Telegraph about working on their new album, the Daily Mail reports.

"We all have different tastes, [but] they all seem to come together to make a One Direction song," he added, revealing that while the boys may do more individual work these days, it helps the group as a whole.

Liam Payne admitted that he "spent a couple of days" with Pharrell Williams but that he wasn't sure if anything will come of it because "our sound is so left field for him."

Meanwhile, Harry also told The Sunday Telegraph that he's done some writing with John Legend and the Madden Brothers, but stressed that he only "did it just to write."

Liam Payne and Harry Styles denied rumors of a One Direction break up earlier this year.

Payne told Capital FM: "We're not splitting up, we're writing our next album."

The 1D singer added: "People say we don't work hard and it's all a game and whatever.

"We just wanna make good music, and this album - honestly, every lad out there tonight who's thinking One Direction are this and that. Literally, next album - pick up our album and see what you feel."

Harry Styles previously told Britain's The Sun newspaper, "We're not breaking up. We've spent every day together for months and I forgot what my mum looked like!"

In a recent interview with Billboard, One Direction's mentor, Simon Cowell, said that "eventually they probably will split up and maybe want to have their own careers."

But this shouldn't come anytime soon: "From what I hear, they're really enjoying what they're doing and and we don't feel there's anything seriously wrong here," Simon also told the magazine.

"We just love what we're doing right now," Liam added. "We've got no intention to change that."

Niall said, "I have my four best mates on the road with me to keep me from getting lonely. Wouldn't give it up for anything."
