‘The Hobbit: Battle Of Five Armies’ Rumors On Thorin Oakenshield Debunked? Fans Create Trailer For Peter Jackson’s Film

"The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies" rumors concerning Thorin Oakenshield are not true as fans create trailer for Peter Jackson's film.

Over the past week, various media outlets and blogs reported that Thorin Oakenshield will survive unlike in the book where he dies soon after the epic battle.

According to the OneRing, a website dedicated to J.R.R. Tolkien's world, the source of the rumor is from the website Ecunemical News then was picked up by other outlets like the Examiner.

The Ecunemical News  first reported the "The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies" rumors when it posted that the film will follow almost to the letter Tolkien's book, "though one character who died in the book, Thorin Oakenshield, will remain alive."

However, OneRing exposed "The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies" rumors after having first-hand information that Peter Jackson already filmed Thorin Oakenshield's death scene. Richard Armitage, who plays Thorin, also revealed last year to Samantha, who visited the set through the Make-A-Wish Foundation, that his character is going to die.

In an interview with Empire magazine in December last year, Richard Armitage admitted that the battle has been looming over the cast and crew of "The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies."

"I'm predicting about ten weeks for the shoot because it's an extensive battle and each character is going to have their 'hero' moment on the battlefield," he said.

"It's a manic fight in the air - the eagles are fighting bats - and on the ground, and I can't wait to see what Pete does with that."

Meanwhile, a fan trailer for "The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies" was released online.

According to straight.com, the trailer was pieced together from the movies "Eragon, "Snow White and the Huntsman," "Jack the Giant Slayer," "Season of the Witch," "Sucker Punch," "Dragonfyre," Fire & Ice," "Midnight Chronicles," "47 Ronin" and "Dragon Crusaders."
