'Game of Thrones' Named HBO's Most Popular TV Show Ever As Fans Gear Up For Season 4 Finale

"Game of Thrones" has been named HBO's most popular TV show - ever! "Game of Thrones" season 4 has helped the series surpass the famous TV show "The Sopranos" to become the most-watched show in HBO history, as fans get ready for the season 4 finale.

According to Entertainment Weekly, "Game Of Thrones" has an average gross audience of 18.4 million viewers across all platforms, which bumps it past the previous record set by the 2002 peak season of "The Sopranos," which had an average gross audience of 18.2 million viewers per episode.

"Game of Thrones" season 3 had an average gross audience of 14.4 million viewers per episode.

"Game of Thrones" season 4, which has only two episodes left, set several recent ratings records for its own performance, EW reports.
