George R.R. Martin Shifts ‘Winds Of Winter’ Release Date Interest With Bidding Offer; Will Winners Get To Know Ending To ‘A Song Of Fire And Ice?'

George R.R. Martin has shifted interest for "Winds of Winter" release date with a new bidding contest. Will winners the chance to know ending of "A Song of Fire and Ice" series?

The 65-year-old author revealed the bidding contest on the website Prizeo as he said that bidders will get a chance to play a character probably in the seventh book of the "A Song of Fire and Ice" series.

The privilege comes at a steep price however because the available bid for a Martyr level is placed at $20,000, for each of the male and female character. However, "you can choose your character's station in the world (lordling, knight, peasant, whore, lady, maester, septon, anything) and you will certainly meet a grisly death!' George R. R. Martin promised.

According to MailOnline, based on the YouTube video uploaded by the "Game of Thrones" executive producer, the proceeds of the fundraising campaign will benefit the wolf sanctuary in New Mexico and the Food Depot, which provides food stuffs to nine countries.

For those who couldn't afford the $20,000 Martyr level, they can start with the $10 Ranger level and still get a chance to be flown to Sta. Fe in New Mexico where they will be joined by George R. R. Martin for a tour and helicopter ride.

It's not clear if they can ask for the "Winds of Winter" release date but the author promised that "We can talk about dragons, direwolves, Games Of Thrones, Song of Ice And Fire, anything you want to talk about."

The author has been mum about the "Winds of Winter" release date, claiming on various news sites that he's writing one page at a time.

According to the Prizeo website, donors in the Queen level will have the official script of the first episode of "Game of Thrones" which is signed by the crew and cast members. For $7,500 in the King level, a donor will get a pair of tickets to the season five premiere of the show as well as the author's signature sailor hat.
