"Person of Interest" season 4 writers are back at work with finale of the hit series in mind? The showrunners promise to reveal Bear's background when next season begins.

According to Zap2it, the official Twitter account of the writers room uploaded a photo on May 27 showing them in a meeting as they start working on "Person of Interest" season 4.

The photo came with the caption: "First day back in the room! Getting our last bit of sun before descending into writing Season 4."

In a blog post by Cartermatt, the writers of the show, starring Jim Caviezel, have their work cut out for them because the previous seasons so far have been quite somber. "Person of Interest" doesn't shy away from killing off a major character with the death of Agent Carter.

"It certainly feels like the episodes ahead will be all about the rise of the machines, and whether or not the team can assemble and figure out a way to stop terrible things from happening with a product that is basically the opposite of what they originally set out to do," Cartermatt reported.

Showrunner Jonathan Nolan was asked by Zap2it what part of "Person of Interest" season 4 he's most excited about and he replied, "Bear's secret identity? We haven't talked about that one yet."

He was echoed by co-showrunner Greg Plageman who chimed in: "We definitely need to have Bear flashbacks this season, I think. I definitely don't think we've utilized Bear as a surveillance tool as much as we can."

Jonathan Nolan added that "Person of Interest" season 4 will be about artificial intelligence.

"This show has always been headed towards this season's finale, and headed out of it, we know exactly where we're going. There will be some fun surprises along the way," he said. "We've always flirted, we've always been headed in this direction of our show being about artificial intelligence and about the weirdness of the world that's coming to us."
