According to multiple reports, Calvin Harris confirmed the news that he and Rita Ora broke up on Twitter last Friday. According to Harris' tweet, the couple separated "some time ago."

The reports claim that that was news to The R.I.P. singer, who apparently first found out her and Calvin Harris' year long romance was from that Twitter confirmation.

Harris and Ora have been dating for more than a year, off and on. Rita still thought they could work through their issues.

On June 6, Harris tweeted "To address speculation -- myself and Rita ended our relationship some time ago. She is a beautiful, talented woman & I wish her all the best."

A source told The Sun newspaper: "Rita was left embarrassed when he tweeted that it was all over. She didn't think he was going to make the announcement, so she was shocked."

Ora hit back on Instagram in a photo with her new boyfriend Khalil Amir Sharieff that was captioned "Me & this sweetheart."

Ora also shared a photo of her new tattoo on Twitter and Instagram saying "We're gona be ballerinas when were 102! @andacloud9 #iloveubestie @bangbangnyc free-hand drawn on. You beast! Love you my brother!"

She followed that up with another shot of the inking from another angle captioned "Undercut Massive...with my little ballerina @yaro___."
