Mexico will face off against Cameroon in a first round match of the Brazil World Cup 2014 tournament, pitting two Group A teams against each other.

Mexico, ranked 20th in the world by FIFA, is expected to be the favorite in the match.

The Latin American team's coach Miguel Herrera said he will "fight to the death" against the rival African team.

"Every training session leaves me easy and calm knowing every player will leave their last bead of sweat and last breath on the field to please the Mexican fans," Herrera told a news conference on Thursday, according to The Globe and Mail.

"We will fight to the death."

Cameroon, ranked 56th in the world, is expected to be the underdog of the match.

The African team's manager Volker Finke has settled a recent bonus dispute.

"It's just one of those things that these agreements can take longer in Africa," Finke told German TV station Sport1, according to Goal.com.

"That agreement was struck this morning and now we can fly to Brazil today (Sunday). Our fans will be pleased - Cameroon will of course be participating in the World Cup. The agreement is there and there's no point making such a big fuss out of the whole thing. It's really not as big as it has been made out to be in recent days."
