‘Super Smash Bros. 4’ Wii U Release Date Slated For Holiday 2014; Nintendo 3DS Version Hitting The Shelves This October; New Playable Characters Revealed!

"Super Smash Bros. 4" Wii U release date is set to happen later this year.

More specifically, as noted on Examiner, Nintendo announced during E3 2014 that "Super Smash Bros. 4" Wii U release date will be delayed.

Initially, the game is expected to arrive this summer season. However, the new Super Smash Bros. 4 Wii U release date is now slated for at some point during the holiday season of this year.

The release date for "Super Smash Bros 4" for 3DS was also announced at E3 2014 as it won't be coming out during the summer season anymore.

Meanwhile, the Super Smash Bros. 4 release date for the Nintendo 3DS version is already slated for October 3.

In addition to announcements regarding "Super Smash Bros. 4" Wii U, 3DS release date, the game company also revealed new characters that will be playable in the game. For instance, Masahiro Sakurai, the game director announced that Palutena, a character from Kid Icarus will be part of Super Smash Bros. 4.

Masahiro shared, "She's using a lot of powers in the video we released, but these are only a few of the powers featured in Kid Icarus: Uprising."

Also, during Nintendo's E3 2014 show, the company announced that you or more particularly, your Mii avatar is the new playable character for its classic fighting game. As noted on Tom's Guide, Mii fighters will be available in three types, the Brawlers, Gunners and Swordfighters.

In Super Smash Bros. 4, players will be able to customize their fighters to some extent, as confirmed by the Wii U maker. However, the ability to customize will only be available for offline play and "playing privately with friends online." Gamers will not be able to customize their fighters when they brawl against strangers in the online mode.

Also included in the list of new playable characters coming to Super Smash Bros. 4 Wii U are Pac-Man, Mega Man, Little Mac,Rosalina and Luma and more.
