Upcoming Android Phones 2014: New Huawei Phone Has Fingerprint Scanner, Metal Body, 5" Screen, 3GB RAM

We're almost half way done in 2014 and there are still a number of upcoming Android phones which are currently under way. One of these rumored handsets is the new Android handset from Huawei.

Dubbed as Mulan, the device certainly looks promising based on the rumors we have been getting recently.

Now, in a new report by GSM Arena, the device appears in its first live images, and from the looks of it the Huawei Mulan looks stunning.

In the report, the handset packs a 5-inch display with Full HD (1920 x 1080) resolution, 3GB of RAM and Huawei's very own octa-core Kirin 920 chipset that features four Cortex-A15 and four Cortex-A7 cores.

Behind the device is a 13MP primary camera while there is a 5MP front cam for video calls and selfies.

As we can see from the image, the Huawei Mulan looks good and resembles the HTC One max which launched late last year. It has a thin frame with a metal covered chassis, which would make it a durable device.

Interestingly, the report says that the unannounced Huawei phone has a fingerprint scanner at the back, just below the camera sensor. We are not yet sure what it can do, but it better be good to catch up to other devices in the market which currently has the sensor.

In the report, the Huawei Mulan could be the Honor 6 or the highly anticipated Ascend D2 successor. We cannot know for sure by now, though the unveiling of the device is rumored on June 24.

Will this smartphone be able to stand out against the battalion of other Chinese-made smartphones in its home market where millions of people are beginning to use these devices, and abandon feature phones? Not to mention the international competition it is facing in world renowned brands such as LG, Samsung and HTC.
