Malia Obama's Hollywood debut is confirmed as President Barack Obama's daughter joins Halle Berry for the new TV series "Extant."

However, Malia Obama's Hollywood debut will come from behind the screen as she was named as a TV production assistant for the new CBS sci-fi thriller, which is produced by the great Steven Spielberg.

According to TheWrap, President Barack Obama's daughter's main task is to help with "computer shop alignments and the director also let her slate a take."

The 15-year-old was also said to have remarked to TheWrap source about the Malia Obama's Hollywood debut experience, "My first time. This is a big deal!"

According to People, the White House did not argue the report, however it did not provide any statement either. But the President told the publication back in 2012 how her eldest daughter has taken an interest in filmmaking, so Malia Obama's Hollywood debut is only the next logical step.

The first lady, Michelle Obama, also said: "Just like her father, she is an avid reader, and she enjoys movies. But she's a freshman, so she also knows she has years in college to explore her interest."

The youngest of President Barack Obama's daughter, Sasha, meanwhile doesn't really know what she likes yet.

"What she likes today will change in an hour. So she doesn't even try and lay it out yet. I want them to be as open to possibilities as possible," Michelle Obama added.

According to E! News, the CBS show "Extant" marks Oscar winner Halle Berry's first TV role since the 2005 made-for-TV movie "Their Eyes Were Watching God;" she was nominated for an Emmy as well as a Golden Globes for that role.

Halle Berry will bring gravitas to the role she will play as an astronaut who comes back to Earth after a year in space. The 13-episode series will premiere on CBS July 9.
