Apple iOS 8 Beta Will Begin Supporting 3rd Party Apps To Manually Control Camera Functions

With Apple's iOS 8 beta now arriving to developer devices, there is one piece of news that you may be interested in. If you have been dying to manually change your iPhone camera's settings to no avail, rejoice as it may soon become a reality.

According to a report by GSM Arena, iOS 8 will soon enable users to manually change their camera's settings such as ISO, shutter speed, focus mode, white balance, exposure bias and more.

That is because the new update would allow for such changes, beginning with the beta version which was sent to developers earlier this week.

Unfortunately, the change would not be seen right away, nor users would be able to tweak said features using the iPhone's native camera app. Currently, only developers have the access and permission to change said camera features using AVCaptureDevice APIs.

However, the fact that Apple has allowed these developers to tinker on its famous camera app, it is another big step towards Android, which allows customization of anything.

Do not be surprised when several applications in the future would begin to use the iPhone's camera app and change its settings based on presets, or even manually.

Aside from the iOS, there is not much to talk about the iPhone 6's new features aside from the ones leaked and rumored already. It would reportedly have a sapphire display on its 4.7-inch screen, there would be a bigger 5.5-inch version, some Touch ID improvements, home automation brough about by iOS 8, and even water resistance.

There has been much clamor as to Apple's strategy of bringing the battle to the Android flagships' own yard. However, knowing the Cupertino giant, it would not dive into any trouble without knowing the risks and how to win.

Let us wait for more rumors and hopefully concrete details from Apple itself.
