Kim Kardashian Jesus Exhibit Grows in Brooklyn; Even As Religious Icon, Kim Kardashian Plastic Surgery Rumors Persist, `She Has The Nose Job of An Angel'

Kim Kardashian Jesus exhibit: God bless Kim Kardashian and all the artists who render her. Hannah Kunkle, a Brooklyn artist with a "strange fascination" for Kim Kardashian, committed Kanye West's new bride to canvass as Jesus, the Virgin Mary and a Satanic priestess.

The Kim Kardashian Jesus exhibit is the work of Pratt Institute gradate Hannah Kunkle, who told the Daily News that she sees Kardashian as "almost a patron saint of pop culture."

The Kim Kardashian Jesus exhibit is called "The Passion of Kim Kardashian," and it's nowhere nearly as painful to look at as the Mel Gibson movie, "The Passion of the Christ." The Kardashian canvass can be seen in the Bushwick section of Brooklyn, USA. The Kim Kardashian Jesus Exhibit is a one-night show that can be viewed at Palisades 906.

According the Daily News, local religious officials are bothered by Hannah Kunkle's paintings of Kim Kardashian, who are confused by the religious motif. They obviously haven't bought Kanye's new album "Yeezus."

Father Michael Perry of Our Lady of Refuge Church in Flatbush told the Daily News that the Kim Kardashian exhibit is "dumb and stupid."

"Everyone knows who Kim Kardashian is and I don't care who she is. She has no impact on my life at all," the priest told the Daily News. But Perry does appreciate Kunkle's artwork. "They are gorgeous photos. They are well thought out."

Not so much for Pastor Reggie Stutzman of Real Life Church in Hunts Point in Bronx, who said ""It's deplorable," "It's sacrilegious, irrelevant, and disrespectful. . . It's idol worship."

Pastor Stutzman is currently working to raise money to convert a Bronx strip club into a church.

"Leave Kim and Jesus separate," Stutzman told the Daily News. "To cross so many lines and actually imagine her with a cross, which is the most important thing Jesus did, is inappropriate. There are other ways to depict that imagery without combining those images."

"I've never got haters before," Kunkle told the Daily News. "I love it."

A seminarian for the Diocese of Brooklyn, John Gribowich, 35, said the artwork "confuses" him. Gribowich is also a Pratt alumnus, earning an Master Degree in art history from the institute.

"I don't know what the intention is by the artist," he told the Daily News. "Here [Kardashian] is as portraying Christ, here she is portraying the Blessed Mother, and then there's a demonic image of her. I don't know how you can be all of those things. It doesn't make sense. It's taking things from lots of different traditions and things that are contradictory and you're doing it all in one exhibition"

"I think there is a cohesiveness to the art," the seminarian explained to the Daily News. "But I don't walk away thinking Kim Kardashian is a goddess."

The Kim Kardashian Jesus exhibit also features the Reality TV Goddess as Joan of Arc and a Hindu goddess. Dr. Uma Mysorekar, of the Hindu Temple Society of North America in Flushing said "I am certainly not happy about this. Any religious symbol should not be used or abused. "They are images for worship not for display or to be used to just bring ones fame up. It's distasteful," she said.

Kunkle doesn't see her work as controversial. She thinks the reaction is "pretty hilarious." She told the Daily News that she "I'm sorry if that offends them, but that's really not my purpose," she told the Daily News "It's art. It's supposed to be wild and, not offensive, but prying. ... Religious idols are so beautiful to me, so I wanted to make my own that apply to me. Those images are so powerful - it gives power to the idea of worshiping her."

Even as a Jesus painting, Kardashian can't get away from plastic surgery rumors. Earlier this year, the Daily News reported that she told VICE "Kim Kardashian is God. She's crazy bodacious and has the nose job of an angel."
