NBC Orders New Bear Grylls Celebrity Survival Show: Guests Include Ben Stiller And Channing Tatum [PHOTO]

Bear Grylls is the one who started the survival show phenomena, and since then we have seen every possible iteration of the idea from "Dual Survival," which puts a hippy and a marine in the woods to survive, to "Naked and Afraid" where contestants are dropped naked, with a knife, and told to survive for a month. Well, not every iteration it seems. NBC has ordered a new show from the English outdoorsmen Bear Grylls, called Running Wild where he takes celebrities out into the wild to survive.

Running Wild will feature the celebrities doing activities such as skydiving in the Catskill Mountains, repelling down cliffs in Utah and battling the elements in Scotland. The first season, six-episode planned so far, is an hour long unscripted program with Bear Grylls taking the celebrities on 48 hour treks into the wilderness.

The celebrities currently slated to go on the show are, "The series will be six episodes and each hourlong episode will focus on a celebrity. Channing TatumBen StillerTamron HallDeion Sanders and Tom Arnold will also appear on the show.

"Running Wild allows viewers to see inside the hearts and minds of these guests in a very open, honest and vulnerable way, pushing them out of their comfort zones and seeing what they are like in real life when stripped of all the benefits of celebrity," Grylls said in a statement. "Ultimately, this show is about taking these stars on the adventure of a lifetime and being alongside them when they discover something new and empowering about themselves and their world. For me, that is always a privilege."

"Bear's incredible spirit is absolutely contagious, not only with his celebrity partners but with the viewing audience as well. We can't wait to see how these epic adventures will profoundly change those who take the challenge," Paul Telegdy, president or alternative and late night programming at NBC, said in a statement.

"Running Wild" kicks off July 28. If you aren't already taking bets on who Bear Grylls makes cry first, you should be.
