‘Homeland’ Season 4 Spoilers: Dana Brody Actress Hopes She’ll Return For Episodes After Premiere As Half-Sister Of Carrie's Baby, But ‘No Plans’ Yet

New "Homeland" season 4 spoilers reveal that the actress who plays Dana Brody, Morgan Saylor, hopes that she'll return for season 4 episodes of "Homeland" after the premiere. However, she admitted there are no concrete plans yet for her to reprise her role. Dana Brody will unknowingly have a half-sister next season, when Carrie gives birth to Nicholas Brody's baby.

"They started filming yesterday, and there are no plans right now," Saylor told Vulture in an interview about whether she will return as Dana Brody in "Homeland" season 4. "But [showrunner] Alex Gansa says he hopes I'll be back. And Dana will have a half-sister."

Dana was not a popular character for "Homeland" fans, especially when season 3 devoted a lot of screen time to Nicholas Brody's daughter and her difficulty coping with the idea that her father was a traitor and a terrorist. Many "Homeland" fans found her scenes whiny and dull while she struggled with teenage angst.

After Brody's death in the season 3 finale, Morgan Saylor was downgraded to guest star status for "Homeland" season 4.

It remains to be seen if Saylor will return as Dana after the premiere of "Homeland" season 4. However, it might be an interesting plot twist for Dana to realize that she has a half-sister, in the form of Carrie's child with Nicholas.

Meanwhile, cast members are in South Africa shooting scenes for "Homeland" season 4. As we previously reported, Mandy Patinkin, who plays Saul Berenson, revealed new spoilers to Access Hollywood about the South Africa filming location for the upcoming season.

"I'm about to go to South Africa for seven months," he told Access Hollywood. "We'll be based in Cape Town...we begin shooting [and it will last] all the way through November."

South Africa will double for Islamabad, Pakistan, showrunner Alex Gansa revealed.

"South Africa has a very big tax break," Alex Gansa said when asked about the new "Homeland" season 4 filming location, Variety reports.

"Homeland" season 4 is expected to premiere this fall, in September or October 2014.
