‘Under The Dome’ Season 2 Spoilers: Premiere Episode Is ‘Very Dark’ Rachelle Lefevre Says, Reveals How Julia’s Character Will Change As ‘Monarch’

"Under the Dome" season 2 premieres in just over a week, and Rachelle Lefevre, who plays Julia in the TV series, revealed new "Under the Dome" season 2 spoilers to Access Hollywood about the future of the Dome and her character's upcoming changes.

"I'm excited for people to see it 'cause it's really dark," Rachelle told Access. Stephen King, who wrote the book that "Under the Dome" is based on, also penned the premiere episode. "I think that [King] took the opportunity to reveal a little darker sides of our characters and maybe make the Dome feel a little more ominous and, of course, because it's Stephen King, two characters die in this episode."

Lefevre also dished spoilers about her character Julia, and how she will change in "Under the Dome" season 2 after it was revealed that she is the "monarch," or someone with a special relationship with the Dome.

"I think Julia's journey this season is one that she realizes, reluctantly, that she has to come to power in some way, that she has to be a leader and all that that entails," she said.

Compared to last season, when Julia was "level headed" and "calm," now she realizes she has to "get her hands dirty" and "get more involved," Lefevre continued.

"She has to take on Big Jim more than she has. And there are some physical aspects. She's gotta go out and sort of do some of the more action-y stuff. She's really gotta play a bigger role in the survival of Chester's Mill this season."

"Under the Dome" season 2 air date is Monday, June 30 at 10 p.m. ET/PT on CBS.

As we previously reported, according to spoilers, the new character Rebecca in "Under the Dome" season 2 will be portrayed by an addition to the cast: Karla Crome. Crome will play a science teacher who attempts to find more tangible answers to the mysterious dome. Her views will bring tension to Rachelle Lefevre's character Julia, who has taken a faith-approach to the dome and views it as punishment.

"We have this real tension between science and faith this year," executive producer Neal Baer said during a CBS summer preview event, TV Guide reports.
