According to TV Guide, the episode 8 synopsis for the "Penny Dreadful" finale reads: "Season 1 ends with Vanessa and Sir Malcolm facing their worst nightmares."

The finale is titled "Grand Guignol," which was "The Theater of the Big Puppet" in Paris and popular for their "naturalistic horror shows," according to Wikipedia.

Perhaps Vanessa and Sir Malcolm will face their "worst nightmares" in the frightening theater!

There are many questions to be answered in the "Penny Dreadful" finale. Will Sir Malcolm be able to find Mina? What state will she be in if found? What will happen to Brona Croft, who is sick with tuberculosis? Will we see Dorian's portrait in the finale?

As we previously reported, Showtime recently renewed the series for season 2 and has ordered 10 episodes, up from the eight-episode season 1, according to Deadline. "Penny Dreadful" season 2 will go into production later this year and will continue to shoot on location in Dublin for a 2015 launch.
