"The Jungle Book" movie remake has added Sir Ben Kingsley into the cast, along with Scarlett Johansson, Lupita Nyong'o and Idris Elba, as he will voice the black panther Bagheera.

According to London's Independent, "The Jungle Book" movie remake, based on the original collection of stories by Rudyard Kipling of the same name, will add some "star clout" as Sir Ben Kingsley is expected to bring gravitas to his role. In the Disney 1967 animated movie, Bagheera served as the protector and guardian of Mowgli.

The publication said that most of the animals in the movie, including Sir Ben Kingsley's Bagheera, are computer generated to join the boy Mowgli, which has yet to be cast. The main villain in the story, the tiger Shere Khan, will be played by Idris Elba.

"The Jungle Book" movie remake will be directed Jon Favreau and will be written by Justin Marks. Although Sir Ben Kingsley and Jon Favraeu did not work together in the "Iron Man 3," where the Oscar-winning actor played "The Mandarin," they are linked under the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

The website Cinema Blend noted that most of the cast in the new Disney film seemed to have come from the Marvel Cinematic Universe. For instance, Scarlett Johansson played Natasha Romanov or The Black Widow in "The Avengers," Idris Elba was the Asgardian Heimdal in "Thor."

The website revealed that Idris Elba was first to be cast back in March before the names of Scarlett Johansson and Lupita Nyong'o were announced by Disney.

Although Lupita Nyong'o wasn't part of any Marvel movie, Disney is still keeping it within the family as the Oscar-winning actress is working on "Star Wars: EpisodeVII."

"The Jungle Book" movie remake, added Cinema Blend, chronicles the story of Mowgli and the friendships he formed with the different animals in the jungle and possibly his "reintroduction to human society."
