‘The Flash’ TV Series Spoilers: Featurettes On Rick Gosnett’s Detective Eddie Thawne To Challenge Grant Gustin’s Barry Allen; Will Iris Fall For Him?

"The Flash" TV series spoilers are getting to be more interesting as featurette introduces Eddie Thawne, who will challenge Barry Allen in love and even in life.

Eddie Thawne (Rick Gosnett), also known as "Detective Pretty Boy," is an overly confident police officer who obviously gets his nickname because of his looks.

Candice Patton (Iris West), according to the CW network's "The Flash" TV series spoilers, Eddie Thawne is "a little full of himself, a little overconfident about his abilities."

"I mean, he probably can back it up, but I think it rubs people the wrong way, and I think it even rubbed Iris the wrong way when she first met him," she added. "But usually those are the guys you kind of fall for."

However, ComicBook noted that Eddie Thawne won't just be Barry Allen's rival for Iris' affection. The website revealed "The Flash" TV series spoilers when it said that Detective Pretty Boy is actually the Reverse-Flash or Professor Zoom in the comics.

"Eobard Thawne is the second villain to call himself the Reverse-Flash (alternately, he goes by Professor Zoom). Thawne is Barry Allen's arch-nemesis," it said.

Professor Zoom went ignored for years before writer Geoff Johns introduced the character again in "The Flash: Rebirth."

The ScienceFiction website also offered "The Flash" TV series spoilers when it revealed that Reverse-Flash killed Barry's mother when he was young, based on what Barry Allen during the "Arrow" crossover.

"In the comics, the real name of The Reverse-Flash, also known as Professor Zoom, is Eobard Thawne. Is "Eddie" a variation on that name? If so, does that make him the Reverse-Flash?" it said.

However, the website noted that Eddie Thawne seems "awfully young" to have murdered Nora Allen because he doesn't seem too old for Barry Allen.

"But then again, time travel has constantly played a role in 'The Flash's' comic history and from what I hear about the pilot, it will factor into the TV series as well," ScienceFiction added.
