"It's a special moment," Scolari told reporters, according to Bloomberg News.

"To be on the bench on the national team and to go on in such an important moment as this one."

Germany, ranked second in the world, is expected to be the favorite in the match.

The European team's manager Joachim Löw has complained about Brazil's physical performance in the tournament.

"Brazil is playing more physically than any other team here," Low said, according to the New York Daily News.

"There's little left of that traditional Brazilian style of football. At the end of the day, it's up to the referee to come up with the correct punishment."
