New York Knicks News: Head Coach Fisher Tells Anthony That Knicks Will 'Be Better Next Year', But Is That Enough For An NBA Finals Appearance?

We all know that the latest New York Knicks news will circle around Carmelo Anthony and whether he would return with the Knicks or move to someplace else.

But as far as newly installed Derek Fisher is concerned, he is pretty sure the Knicks would become better next season.

In a report by Ian Begley of ESPN, Fisher talked to Anthony and assured him that New York will become a better team this coming NBA 2014-15 season.

"The time I had the visit with him I just shared with him we'll be a better basketball team because we'll play the game a better way, play as a team, play with a system and format to allow the game to be easier for him for him and his teammates", Fisher told reporters.

Anthony is certainly in good hands with both Derek Fisher and the Zen Master himself Phil Jackson at the helm of a slipping Knicks squad. The team won only 37 games in the regular season, and did not even make the Playoffs.

To think that Melo has been posting monstrous scoring performances the past two seasons, it is really disturbing how New York has not advanced to the third round by the way their superstar has been playing.

Some of the teams interested in Anthony include the Los Angeles Lakers, the Chicago Bulls, Houston Rockets and even the Miami Heat. Last Thursday, New York offered Melo a five-year deal worth $129 million, while the Lakers made a 4-year maximum contract worth $96 million.

In spite the efforts of the said teams in enticing Anthony to move to their respective franchises, reports say that the Knicks management is still confident that their superstar will return to New York, where he was raised, and now where he and his family lives.

Whatever decision Anthony makes, it will surely change the face of the NBA for its upcoming season.
