Kate Upton is hot this summer. The Sports Illustrated cover model is using her considerable powers of influence to handicap Baseball's All-Star Team, by shilling for her name sake.

We thought Justin Verlander was Kate Upton's favorite baseball player. Verlander, from the Detroit Tigers, has been dating Upton, the swimsuit model of Sports Illustrated fame, for quite a while, if reports are true. Upton has been spotted at a bunch of Tigers games and Justin and Kate tweet to each other constantly.

But when it comes to the All-Star Game, the Atlanta Braves outfielder Justin Upton has caught the hot model and actress' eye.

Upton, who holds great sway in sports due to Sports Illustrated's annual swimsuit edition, asked her 1.45 million Twitter followers to vote for Braves left fielder Justin Upton as a fan favorite for Major League Baseball's All-Star Game. Upton appeared with Justin and his brother, Braves center fielder B.J. Upton, on the cover of last October's issue of Sports Illustrated.

Justin Upton is among 10 players in the running for the final two spots.

Kate has a dream and it's a recurring dream that she has ever day when she wakes up, which is usually to "coffee, I always have to have eggs and spinach every morning... And I always wake up and have to have a glass of water with lemon right away."

"My dream is to continue doing what I'm doing, because I'm in such a great position where I can work with companies that I actually really love and believe in and want to be a part of, so that makes my job a lot easier," she recently told Vogue magazine.

Kate Upton also told the fashion magazine "I think a lot of people try too hard" to look good. "Whenever you're like, 'I wanna dress sexy,' that's a bad place to start from," she said.
