NBA Trade Rumors: Cleveland Cavaliers Send Jarrett Jack, Tyler Zeller To Brooklyn, Boston In Three-Way Trade Designeed To Clear Cap Space For LeBron James!

The NBA Trade Rumors are still running corollary to the superstar free agent pursuit and there's no bigger star than LeBron James. The Cleveland Cavaliers are going full pursuit for the King and they have made moves that can officially accommodate his max contract.

From the Cleveland side (from Cleveland.com)

"The Cavs sent Jack and Sergey Karasev, the No. 19 pick in last year's NBA Draft, to the Brooklyn Nets. The Cavs also traded former first rounder Tyler Zeller and a 2016 first-round pick to the Boston Celtics. Yahoo Sports reports the pick is Top-10 protected in 2016, 2017 or 2018. It's unprotected in 2019.

The Cavs received the draft rights to Ilkan Karaman, Christian Drejer and Edin Bavcic. They might also get a future second rounder.

Karaman is a 24-year-old Turkish small forward, who last played for Fenerbahce Ulker. He averaged 5.4 points and 3.5 rebounds in 13.8 minutes in 39 games. He was the 57th pick by the Brooklyn Nets in the 2012 NBA Draft.

Drejer, 31, was the 51st pick by the Nets in the 2004 NBA Draft, but has not played professionally since 2008.

Bavcic, 30, was a 2006 second-round pick (56th overall) of the Toronto Raptors. He's been in Greece since 2012 and averaged 8.8 points and 5.9 rebounds this past season."

It's unlikely that any of the three players that the Cavs acquired are coming to Cleveland anytime soon. These are just assets that the Brooklyn and Boston gave up to facilitate the trade. The main goal of clearing enough assets for the max has been accomplished without giving up a starter-only Jarett Jack, a valuable back-up.

The Boston Celtics also got Marcus Thornton from Brooklyn as part of the trade. They got real assets for taking cap space.

It seems like a win-for-all situation as the Nets need a point guard more than they need Thornton.

While this may seem like a "LeBron or bust" trade, the Cavs are also ready to use the space for other free agents if ever LeBron James does not make the homecoming.
