Mijoo Reveals How She Met Boyfriend & Why She Fell In Love With Him: 'He Looks Very Fierce But...'
After confirming her relationship with footballer Song Bum Keun, Mijoo revealed how her boyfriend reacted to the dating news, how they met, and the reason she fell in love with him.
Lee Mijoo Shares How Song Bum Keun Reacted After Their Dating Confirmation
On May 4, the latest episode of MBC's "Hangout With Yoo" aired, showcasing the cast members' first gathering since Mijoo went public with her lover, Song Bum Keun.
As the "little sister" of the show, the other cast immediately teased her about her relationship and decided to ask her a few questions about her boyfriend.
At the beginning of the show, the cast and staff warmly congratulated Mijoo for the beginning of her public relationship and welcomed her back after 1 week of being MIA.
The former LOVELYZ member was caught in a dating rumor with football player Song Bum Keun on April 18, after it was reported that Mijoo personally accompanied the athlete in Japan to support his match in the J-League.
On the same day, Mijoo's agency confirmed that they were in a serious relationship and immediately after, fans found out that they had been hinting at fans about their status on Instagram all along with their lovestagram photos in Yokohama, Japan.

Back to the show, Mijoo candidly replied when asked how they were doing after the news broke, saying:
"That buddy rather like it (going public). He's at ease (now). What I mean is, before, I was too popular. I'm a really popular person outside, so he was anxious about it. But now, he liked it so much after going public."

As the talk about her boyfriend continued, Mijoo also briefly mentioned how they met each other, saying:
"So (we met) through a casual relationship. At somewhere, there was a gathering somewhere. We got along well there naturally."
Mijoo then can't hide her affection for her boyfriend when she adds:
"What is attractive about him? So what I mean is on the outside, he looks very fierce, right? But he's a very cute guy."
Hearing this, Yoo Jae Suk "violently" reacted and shouted:
"Don't say it! Ugh, I don't want to hear it!"
Meanwhile, Lee Mijoo and Song Bum Keun have a three-year gap, the former being older (born in 1994) than the latter (1997).
Song made her name known in the sports world as J-League's Shonan Bellmare's goalkeeper since 2023.
He will also join the 2026 North and Central American World Cup Asia Second Qualifier after being chosen by the South Korean national football team.
