When a drama does not pull in ratings, actors sometimes don't get paid on time. This recently happened to Moon Geun Young, Kim Bum, and the rest of the cast for "Goddess of Fire: Jeonji."

But it's not the first time that it happened, not even this year. According to industry insiders, this flaw in the way dramas are funded was at least partially responsible for the tragic death of director Kim Jong Hak.

Kim, the director of "Faith: The Great Doctor," starring Lee Min Ho and Kim Hee Sun, was found dead in July. He committed suicide after the drama's cast and crew filed a complaint against him and the production company because they were not paid for their work on the historical time travel drama.
