In spite of the denials a friend of Val Chmerkovskiy told Us Weekly that "[Maks] loves her probably more than I've seen him love another woman. He loves and adores her, but it's like a King Kong type of relationship."

A differemt source told E!News that Davis and Chmerkovskiy are not dating, saying "In truth, there is no romance there. They're good friends, but nothing more. The hype about it has been fun, but it's not real." 

'Dancing With The Stars' season 18 ended with Meryl Davis and dancing partner Maks Chmerkovskiy winning the mirror ball trophy.

Meryl Davis, 27, and Maksim Chmerkovskiy, 34, were on Good Morning America on May 21, to celebrate their DWTS season 18 win. And they talked about that hot hot chemistry.

It was just chemistry. From the day Meryl Davis and Maksim Chmerkovskiy were first paired, TVs across the country captured that sexual tension.

Maksim Chmerkovskiy and Meryl Davis' relationship has gotten hotter throughout season 18 of Dancing With the Stars.

But a different source told Us magazine: "They had a great time (in NYC) but honestly they aren't dating yet ... Maks is that affectionate with all women. He always acts like that, it's how he is, very touchy feely. He genuinely adores her but it is not dating yet."

Maksim Chmerkovskiy used to date Kate Upton. But broke up because of their schedules.

"It was an incredible connection right away. We come from different planets," Maks told the GMA audience.

All season Meryl Davis and Maksim Chmerkovskiy's chemistry has been palpable on the dance floor. The tension hit its boiling point when Maks admitted that he's wanted to "ravage" Meryl and have Russian babies with her.

Maksim joked "I want to ravage her and have ice-skating, big, Russian, mean babies. We're going to call them Boris and Oleg. Their nicknames are going to be Bear. Both. One nickname for both." When he was asked when he was going to propose to Meryl, Chmerkovskiy answered, "Probably tomorrow."
