Nicole Scherzinger and her boyfriend of eight years Lewis Hamilton are thought to have celebrated their anniversary this weekend. The former "X Factor" judge and her F1 racer boyfriend were spotted on a romantic trip to Venice, Italy, where they went sight-seeing and took a gondola ride. The couple looked happy and relaxed: gorgeous Nicole opted for a simple black dress with spaghetti straps and metallic sandals while Lewis wore shorts and a polo T-shirt. Both wore sunglasses and hats to protect themselves from the summer Italian sun.

Nicole Scherzinger, 35, and Lewis Hamilton, 29, indulged in PDA as they held hands, wrapped their arms around each other, and chatted away on the gondola ride.

The fashionable pair continued their PDA when they returned home, heading to upmarket London restaurant Zuma on Saturday night to continue their anniversary celebrations.

According to Express, rumors have recently surfaced that the pair are on the verge of getting engaged after their long history of dating together.

A source close to the couple said: "Lewis adores Nicole and is relieved to have her back in his life. As far as he's concerned, this is it.

"He wants to spend the rest of his life with her."

Nicole Scherzinger and her boyfriend Lewis Hamilton have been together since 2006, but broke up and got back together in 2010. The couple then split again in summer 2013. They were rumored to have rekindled their romance last December over the holiday season.

As we previously reported, according to NDTV, Lewis has asked Nicole to marry him three times already, but each time the "X Factor" judge has rejected his proposal, reports dailystar.co.uk.

"Lewis really wants to get engaged properly and then start planning a wedding for early August when he has a three-week break in the Formula One schedule. Nicole keeps rejecting him and is saying 'I need time to think about what I want,'" a source said.

"He has told his closest friends to keep the first two weeks of August free for a 'mind-blowing wedding'. Now all he needs is for her to agree to it."
